Xander's First Trip to Disney Land

Well, you'd think this would be a happy blog right?? Nope. We were so excited to take Xander to Disney Land for the first time! We got my sister in law to babysit Liam so the whole day would be about Xander and we could go on all the rides together. We were talking to him about it all week and he seemed to like the idea and would say, "I wanna go to Disney Land, ride the rides!" Now I know he had no idea what he was saying. LOL

He was really excited on the way up and at the ticket booth. We rode the train that goes around the park first to get to our first destination. He really liked the train and we were excited about that. Then we got off at Tomorrow Land. We got in line to ride the cars first. Xander started to freak out! He was crying and saying he was too scared to go on it and so upset. We made him go anyway. Brandon was in the car with him and he said Xander was okay, but would get upset every time Brandon would run into the track. Xander wouldn't even try to drive it (I totally thought he would). Next Stop:Finding Nemo Ride. Xander seemed to be better on this one and he was really excited to go see nemo. He was fine the whole time till the end. Then he was scared again and wanted off. lol.

We were determined to find a ride he loved, so we went to the Buzz Lightyear ride next. It seemed perfect cause Xander loves robots and loves shooting stuff. He was crying and having a fit again. Ugh. We showed him that he could use his gun and shoot stuff which calmed him down a bit, but he was really scared the whole ride. I decided that we should go to fantasy land cause they had more mild rides. We went to the Peter Pan ride first. Bad Idea!! He was screaming and crying through the whole thing. I gave up. It was an exhausting day.

It was an exhausting day. We had only been there a few hours and were ready to leave. We rode the train (the only ride he would voluntarily get on) back to the front and left. The day turned out to be a big bust. I guess we will try again when he is older...

  1. Yeah....riesenberg parents are mean. We take our kids on rides kicking and screaming because disneyland is about us. Poor Jack had to ride the matterhorn when he was 18 months. But now they are better for it. They are all thrillseekers now!
